Hi all,
Over the September long weekend, noted bike/hike/travel blogger Leigh McAdam will be visiting Red Deer to explore our bike trails and to do some touring of Central Alberta. She will be a guest of Tourism Red Deer, and she will be featuring our region in her blog. She has a huge global following, so this is a great opportunity to highlight cycling in Red Deer and area, and to promote expansion of touring opportunities for people around the world who may want to come here.
You can see her blog at: (http://www.hikebiketravel.com/about-leigh-mcadam-adventure-travel/)
I was asked to ride along on the tour, but that weekend is already booked for us for a family reunion. I'm not sure of the exact date in her plans, but I might be able to sneak away on the Monday to join the ride, if that fits.
But if I can't be there, would you like to be a bike ambassador for the day?

The early plan is to ride the newly-finished Trans Canada Trail from just outside Red Deer, to Lacombe, and from there to the Ellis Bird Farm for lunch. Plans are variable, and open to any suggestions of a great day trip in our city and region.
Debbie hinted RDABC may get a bit of a donation from Tourism Red Deer for assisting. In any event, this is wonderful opportunity for us and our city to put local cycling on a global map.
